Cotton Calendar

Cotton Calendar handles three types of schedules: no-name, 1-name and 2-names schedules.

(1) 1-name schedules are very common. For example, a schedule of birthdays and anniversaries requires that you pick a name from a list and indicate that the person's birthday or anniversary occurs on some date. A phone log is a 1-name schedule; the schedule entry indicates that you received a call from or made a call to some person (chosen from a list of names). Tickler files and contact lists are also 1-name schedules

(2) The most common kind of 2-name schedule is a sports schedule. To create such a schedule you need to pick from two lists of names (Team 1 plays Team 2). .

(3) No-name schedules require no list of names; you simply make an entry that some event will occur at some time in the future (an appointment, a concert, a trip) or record that some event has happened (you finished writing your novel, your daughter was graduated from college, you were notified that you won the lottery).

To create a 1-name or 2-names schedule, you must first create a names file. Each 1-name or 2-names schedule has attached to it a names file. A names file can be used by more than one schedule; for example, you might use the same names file for your tickler schedule and phone log schedule.

You can mark events as repeating: every week on the same day (Wednesday), every month on the same date (the 15th) or every year on the same date (June 21).

With Cotton Calendar you can create and modify schedules and names files. You can display them, print them (and print preview them) and copy them to the clipboard for pasting into other programs. You can also print the calendar. You can display one schedule or several schedules at the same time.

Three ways to display schedules: Calendar View, Schedule View and Week View.

Calendar View displays a calendar; the dates on which games/events are scheduled are highlighted. You can advance through the calendar by day, month and year -- forward and backward. When you double-click your mouse on any date of the calendar, you are switched to the week view where you can see 7 days of events/games. You can double-click on any calendar day, not just those that are highlighted indicating there is a game/event on that day. You can print a single month or an entire year with game/event days highlighted.

Schedule View Graphic

Schedule View displays the raw schedule as you created it. For each game/event it shows the date, time, names, event, tags and when it repeats (if it does). When you double-click a schedule entry you are switched to the week view where you can see 7 days of events/games.

Week View Graphic

Week View displays the games/events scheduled for 7 days beginning with the date you chose. You can move forward and backward 7 days, a month and a year at a time. Repeating events are displayed for every date they are scheduled to repeat. For example, if on Wednesday 9 June 2004 you added an event to a schedule and marked it as repeating weekly on Wednesday, then it will be listed in Week View every Wednesday from 9 June 2004 (its initial date) forward. Schedule view lists all games and events only once (for its initial date).

What's new?

The current US calendar, Canadian calendar, calendar of religious holidays and major sports schedules are available for downloading. These are posted soon after they become available.

The unregistered evaluation version of Cotton Calendar is fully functional; however, it can load and display only schedules created with the unregistered version. The free schedules that you can download from our Web site are created with a registered version; therefore, they cannot be used by the unregistered version.

The registered version can handle schedules created by a registered or unregistered version of Cotton Calendar. Thus, when you register Cotton Calendar and receive the latest registered version of the program, you will still be able to use any schedules you created with your unregistered version. You can also download any of the free registered schedules from our Web site for as long as you own Cotton Calendar.
